7 players from our U 16 boys' football team recently had the opportunity of participating in the Volkswagen Cup indoor tournament held at the German European School Singapore (GESS). Although they lost the first round robin (a competition where each team plays against all other teams in turn) game by a narrow score of 0-1, our boys managed to win the remaining matches and go on to the Championship final. This was an impressive feat because they didn't concede any more goals in the round robin games.

The team played Dulwich College in the final and were unlucky to lose 0-1, but they did finish in 2nd place. This was an excellent performance from the team as we only had 1 substitute player for the tournament, and many players had played one or two club games on the morning of the tournament. Throughout the tournament, the boys played some excellent football and displayed a superb attitude! Our players could not have given any more of themselves to the games and can be very proud of their second place win.
