Checkmate Champion: Grade 4 Student Aditya Sriram Excels at National Chess Championship

On 21 and 22 March, grade 4 student Aditya Sriram represented CIS in the junior division boys category of the 69th National Schools Individual Chess Championship, Singapore. Aditya won 5 out of 9 rounds and stood:
- first amongst all participants from CIS across all age categories, and
- 13th across all international schools in Singapore in his category.
Aditya has been part of the CIS chess team for the past two years, and he is incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about chess. He credits chess having played a big role in sharpening his mind as well as strengthening his ability to strategise and plan.
